It’s been a while, where did I go?

Remember me? I used to blog here weekly. It’s been a while 🙂

The last year has been one of personal growth and development for me. And in that process I hit the pause button on my parts of my business, like this blog.

And while I’ve wanted re-start the Weekly Insight for a couple months, I also knew that the way I was doing it (a blog post each week) wasn’t going to work for me anymore. So, I wasn’t sure what to say or share (have you ever experienced that?).

After some thought, I have a new blog schedule that I’m excited about and I hope you’ll be too. (The focus will continue to be on building your business through mindset and practical advice)

Here it is:
1st Thursday of the month: Favorites video
I’ll share my favorite things from the previous month. This might be a physical item or tool, an app or something else.

3rd Thursday of the month: Books I’ve read
I’ve been reading more and my goal is to read at least 2 books a month. I’ll share what books I read, what I thought of them and who I’d recommend them to.

Remaining Thursdays
It might be a blog, a video or just a note from me.

Tomorrow afternoon the first blog from the new format will appear! I’ll share two books I’ve recently read.

Much love,
Evie

PS. I looked through my posts from last year and this one especially resonates for me. I thought you might enjoy reading it again (or for the first time): Not Broken

Are you stopped and looking for momentum?

One word keeps appearing for me over and over again this year: momentum.

Other words keep showing up to, they blend together a bit in my head: amplify, engagement, emerging.

How amplify appeared is probably my favorite.

In March I had back-to-back business trips. They both involved training and challenging myself.

In the couple of days between events I was writing in my journal contemplating how to bring more ME to how I show up in my business, networking and the day-to-day.

And in the handouts/worksheets from the second event I was contemplating how to be more ME and what I really offer to my clients.

But I didn’t have a word for it. The word found me though, in an email sent by a computer glitch.

It was from the coach at the first event and the subject line was “Welcome to AMPLIFY, Evie!!”

Curious, because I didn’t join her program, I opened it. And in the opening graphic were the words “Amplify, Be More You”

It wasn’t a sign to join the program; it was guidance to a word that I was looking for: amplify.

Which brings me to a word in the title: stopped.

“Stopped” is what I had been feeling. Specifically in my business, but also in many other places.

And momentum was what I really wanted.

Amplify, engagement, and emerging are words I needed to define for myself and my business first.

Do you relate to this?

Maybe you’ve had a similar experience?

Or maybe you find yourself there now?

If you want more momentum and engagement,
If you want to amplify yourself and your business and to emerge,
then let’s talk.

In a 30-45 minute conversation we can take that step back from always being IN your business and look at what might be going on. We’ll identify a next step or two toward momentum and engagement.

Hustle!

There are two phrases that I see a lot that really bug me: Play BIG and Hustle.

I get tired even seeing the words.

This week we’ll look at hustle. Last week we looked at playing BIG.

Hustle
Unsurprisingly I hear this a lot on a podcast I love by a former pro athlete. And surprisingly I also come across it from someone who used to run a yoga studio.

To me hustle means always busy doing something. Always pushing something forward and making something happen in some aspect of your life.

If the last few months have taught me anything, it’s this: sometimes the biggest transformations are a result NOT being busy and NOT pushing for a result.

Without the down time I took in April and May I would not be working on the things I’m doing now.

And quite frankly, I don’t want to always be pushing something forward. That’s exhausting to me.

This doesn’t mean I don’t (or won’t) expand my comfort zone or that I only do things that are super flowing or easy.

It does mean that I recognize what does and doesn’t work for me. And pushing or hustling does work for me.

What’s your take on “hustle?” Something you love or something you’d leave behind?

Play BIG

There are two phrases that I see a lot that really bug me: Play BIG and Hustle.

I get tired even seeing the words.

This week we’ll look at playing BIG and next week we’ll look at hustle.

Play BIG
We’re constantly told to stop playing small, play big! Raise the prices! Big success can happen all at one! Just believe in it and keep doing the work (keep hustling)!

But what if playing BIG isn’t always about making ONE big decision or setting ONE big goal?

What if sometimes playing BIG is about laying the groundwork for the journey?

What If playing BIG is really just a path of small steps that we take that builds us up?

What if playing BIG is taking an afternoon off to walk in the park, just because you want to?

I remember a coach telling me that I should play BIG, that the success I was looking for would come from a BIG action. Because that’s what she had done and it worked!

Something I realized later was she had almost 10 years of ground work to that BIG action. No, it wasn’t all directly business related, but she had done years of mindset work that equipped her for that BIG action (I’m sure it was still scary).

So, when you’re thinking about what playing BIG might look like for you, what is the groundwork that you want to lay that will support that success?

Fix me!

In April when I was feeling sorry for myself taking some time off, I was trying to figure out what my next steps were when I had this thought that stopped me in my tracks “Should I share my situation with this person? Because she’ll tell me what to do and that would be really nice.”

Do you see what happened with that thought?

I was frustrated and tired of making decisions that didn’t seem to be working. So, I wanted someone else to make decisions for me for a bit.

I wanted to be fixed (this was one of the realizations that lead to the Friday afternoon sobbing realization that I’m not broken).

There’s a line between (1) being responsible for yourself and your business while recognizing that you want and need help and (2) laying everything in front of someone else and saying “what should I do now” (when you really mean “fix me!”).

One is empowering and the other is not.

One is you being the leader in your life and your business and the other letting someone else lead.

Sometimes, the line can be tricky, because the question might sound the same “hey, I need help with this.” The difference is in why you’re asking.

So, are you looking for someone else to make decisions for you?

Or are you discerning your next steps and looking for other options you might not think of on your own?

Where do you end up? Share in the comments below.
